Happy Birthday Ryan!!

Happy Birthday to my oldest nephew,
who was born in 1982............

Okay, okay I will not continue with making up a poem in honor of my nephew. Ryan is the oldest of my sister Glenda. Yes, he was born in 1982 which I remember so well. I had just started high school and becoming an aunt. Two big things in ones life................ smile.

Best wishes to you, Ryan.

Ordinary Days

Back to the same routine of things. We had a very good convention last week. The weather was bad either. A little cool, damp and wet at times. Wasn't bad................ it added a little body to my hair. I didn't have to put a perm in my straight and limp hair. Which by the way I never have put a perm in my hair though I've been tempted. I've always had a fear something would go wrong. Fear is a good thing!

We didn't take any pictures this year at convention. We didn't
even get any of Joseph and Grandma Millie. It also would have
been nice to have gotten some pictures of all the children around
Josephs age. Can you imagine trying to get 1, 2 and 3 year olds to
all stand still. Like maybe 20 of them! I do have a few pictures
that I will throw in from days gone by.

I was greeted with this view when I opened Josephs shade

yesterday morning. (I took the picture later in the day) The
man below us got a deer on Sunday (bow hunting) and they
hung it up in the shed next to the east drive. The picture is
after she was skinned. For Josephs sake I tried not to seem
too disgusted by the sight. Don't want Joseph to grow up
thinking his own Dad is a killer. Jokingly I told Dan I was
going to teach Joseph all about Bambi.

The other pictures .................... we were cleaning out the
tent after using it at Shoals. It was very windy that day
and we had to tie it to the back of the work van. It had
rained the day before so really didn't want to set it up
in the yard. We were trying to get a picture of Joseph,
Sunday morning, who would not stand still.

Happy Birthday Clinton!!!!

Happy Birthday to you, Clinton! I probably should call you because I doubt if you look at this blog. In fact, your Dad probably doesn't come here. For those of you who don't know........ Clinton is the oldest of my brother Steve. So lets see........... it was 20 years ago today. WOW!! We hope you have a great day and a great school year.

Most recent picture I have of the family was Thanksgiving
of 2007. That is Clint, Audrey, Steve and then Mason in the
front.

Tuesday Morning

Tomorrow we leave for Wisconsin Dells convention. Dan plans to take the whole day off which will be nice. The past 3 years he has worked a half day. Its nice to not feel so rushed in packing and loading up the van. Dan wants to get over there in good time and get settled before the night meeting. Less than a month ago we were at Shoals convention but I still feel a great need for this convention. At Shoals we heard that convention starts when our heart is softened. So today will be a busy day for Joseph and I. Need to do some last minute washing and iron a few things.
Its hard to take in that Taylor has passed away. Seems like you just imagine them being around for ever. We would like men like Taylor to be around for a long time. Taylor will be greatly missed as those before him have been.

Sunday Afternoon

While Joseph is napping I was going to print off some pictures to put in a little album for convention. He likes to look at the one he has had since he was a baby. He knows who everyone is and likes to call off their name. So I'll put some recent pictures in for him.

As it normally happens................... I'm getting side tracked. I think I have ADD. I'm easily distracted and end of with 3 to 5 things going at once and getting no where. Worse.......... I can sit and daydream, which gets nothing done.

Whoops.............. what I was going to say is as I was looking at pictures I came across some I took in July when we went up to Randys. We went to a pot luck after Sunday mtg where Joseph enjoyed playing the sand box. Dan and Megan were there with their two boys. Jacob and Joseph played together a bit. There is about 3 or 4 months between I think. Funny.......... their shirts were almost identical.

Taking a break from throwing the ball around.

Jacob: Joseph I don't think that
is going to go in the hole.
Joseph: Maybe if I push real hard.

Which way to go.......... to the left or to the right.
Jacob: When I made a basket they all jump up and shouted Yeah.
Joseph: Wow

Here is something else I've seen the adults do. You start running, look back and I'll throw it to you. Oh and your suppose to catch it.

Happy 24th Birthday Shauna Lynn

Just about let the day completely slip by without a wish going out to Shauna. Happy Birthday and best wishes. Hope you had a great day and your little ones helped you celebrate. We enjoyed seeing them at Shoals with your Mom. Skyler wanted to give Joseph hugs but he kept moving on. He probably still remembers the time she smacked him. (smile)

Another Picture for the 54th Anniversary...........

I came up with another picture to add to the
54th.............. The picture didn't turn out
the best.......... but you can see it a bit.
I've always remember Dad talking about wanting a
Gold Wing. Not serious to the point of getting one........ yet. Always told him he would need to get a side car for Mom. Maybe on their next trip up they will surprise us.
Joseph liked the picture............ I'm sure he
is trying to remember when this picture was taken.

HAPPY 54th ANNIVERSARY DAD AND MOM

Running late this morning with our Anniversary wish. Congratulations on your 54 years of marriage. As you usually do, you'll be spending your day at Madisonville convention. Which is a nice place to be I will say. I'm not with it today or I would have gathered a bunch of pictures to post but I'll see what I can round up.

One picture must have been taken in one of those booths you find at the mall sometimes. (don't think they had malls back then, smile) That
would have been while they were dating.

The other picture was taken for their 50th Anniversary.
I'll let you figure out which is which. They pretty much still
look the same...... just bit older looking.

Patriotic Morning

Every morning when Joseph wakes up he usually starts talking, singing or humming. This morning he was humming and singing the Star Spangled Banner. He had the tune almost exact and was doing well hitting the high notes. (comical sounding though) He had some of the words....... especially " flag was still there". Momma doesn't even know the all the words...... I should brush up on that since he learns what he hears from me. I often hum it and put in the words when I know them. Its amazing how quick children can catch on and even remember words to songs and also the graces.

Just an updated picture of his eye. It is a little darker in color
but the swelling is about gone. If it looks like he has something
in his mouth............. he does, a grape. I can't keep him out of the
fridge and the grapes. I picked off the smaller grapes and made
his own bowl. He just finished that and is heading to the kitchen.
Better go investigate.............................

The Landing was Awful

The trip wasn't so bad but the landing left its mark. Joseph went running into the living room to tell Dan it was time for lunch, he tripped then flew through the air and hit the lever on Dan's chair. I have a few pictures before and after nap. Poor guy........... looks like he got into a fight.

Friday evening we went into downtown Milwaukee to see the Harleys. It was hard getting around because of the crowd but I'm glad we went. It was almost dark when we went so we didn't get the best pictures. I should have told Dan earlier that I wanted to go down.......... I told him during supper. There is one picture, that turned out, that we took of the bikes parked under the over passes and in between..... it was a solid mass. The other pictures that somewhat turned out were by the Harley Museum. Wish we could have got the bikes with side cars and the new three wheelers. There were riders from New Zealand. They enjoyed the 100th celebration and the hospitality of Milwaukee that they wanted to come back.

When all is quiet and Joseph is not around.................... I find him getting into the fridge. He like to get a handful of grapes. Nice he likes healthy snacks but I still have a fear of him getting choked. He is okay unless he starts playing and running with a grape in his mouth then I make him give it to me.
