Rainbow

We just had some more rain and stormy looking weather. The sun came out while it was still raining, we looked out and saw a rainbow. You could see a second rainbow but very faint. Nice to be reminded of God's promise........ He wouldn't flood the whole earth. Sure feel for the folks in the flooded area who have lost everything. It was something to see the videos of the homes at Wisconsin Dells sliding into the lake. I do feel bad for them even if for some it was their weekend homes.

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there. Relax and take it easy........... then do some thing different. (just kidding) We appreciate you and all your efforts. Changing dirty diaper, hair combing, reading books, homework help, fixing the chain on the bike, help on the paper route, going on field trips, believing in us, encouraging us and much, much more that you've done and are still doing. Love and best wishes to you all.

Happy Birthday Janet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Day at the Zoo

Yesterday Joseph and I went to the zoo with Heather B. She had a 5 yr old and almost 3 yr old twins. The zoo was packed with children. Some I think were on their last field trip with school, others were starting they day camp trips and the rest were just visiting. Strollers are a wonderful thing, helps keep your child in one place but a pain when there are 50 plus strollers in one exhibit trying to maneuver around. Joseph seemed to enjoy it (though tired of the stroller) and recognized some of the animals from his books.

We weren't to far down the road, from the zoo, till we had 4 sleeping children.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAN!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is Dan's birthday. We celebrated his birthday tonight. Wednesday nights find us a bit rushed with meeting. All morning Joseph and I practiced singing happy birthday. He was doing pretty good on his own but when I was coming to the table with the cake and singing........... he was too taken with the candles to sing. After we started eating cake and ice cream he started singing a bit.

WHY, WHERE AND HOW

I have the hardest time figuring out the layout of pictures and what I'm writing. Sometimes the pictures appear first........... sometimes not. Sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right.... but never where I put them. I need to do more postings to figure this out......... which leads to doing more things so I have more stuff to post about........ which mean less gets done at home. Guess I could post about what I do here at home.......... or not.
Oops! I made the mistake of looking out the window. Doesn't look good........ Dan may not work a full day. The rain seems to hit then pass on.

New Toys

Sunday after gospel meeting Joseph recieved some new toys. Barb A was down at her daughters where they were having yardsales in the area. You can find some nice things at yardsales......... more than an apartment can hold.

More Storms Coming

Sunday evening, just as we were setting down to eat, the storms started again. We turned on the radio but no tornadoes in sight just a wicked looking sky. We did eat in the kitchen but kept jumping up to look out the windows. (fine example for Joseph) Through the storm Joseph enjoyed his ice cream sandwich. More flash flooding.......... poor Milwaukee........ poor Lake Michigan - the receiver of the sewers.

Storms, Rain and Flooding

Saturday late afternoon there were tornadoes spotted all around us. The radio was telling us when they would arrive in our area. None touched down around us but the sky look wicked and the clouds were swirling above us. There was some major flooding in the area. Milwaukee got hit bad with flooding. Two of the pictures are looking across farming area off Sunset (intersection of D and DE. The other pictures are in area of a park (Fox Run) we walk and play at sometimes. Its between Sunset and 59. Downtown the river was way out and they had to close some of the main roads. Same river - Fox River.

HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY JIM!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow, June 2nd, is James Swonger's 40th birthday. Happy Birthday to you James! Do something special for yourself. Maybe the kids will cook you dinner and bake you a cake.

Sunday Dinner At The Park

We picked up Lloyd for the union mtg today. This month was our month to scatter. When we are around we usually go to Kenny and Helen's. Its the closest to us. (very close) We figured Lloyd wouldn't be able to do 17 steps up to our apartment so we got some KFC and went to the park. After we ate Joseph played around and then we took Lloyd back to the nursing home. He seemed to enjoy the time.
