Convention Time.... Sept 12th - 16th

One of many pictures of Joseph and Abigail

And again......

A try for a family pic

Grandpa and Grandma turn to get their picture
taken with Joseph and Abigail

And again

First time she held still long enough
for me to braid.... it actually stayed in
for a few hours

How about a try in the trailor before
we go outside...... please......

pretty please........

yes I get upset a bit but can't stay that
way for long.....  they are just children
and I do think they are a bit cute :)

We were glad that my parents came up for the convention.  Joseph and Abigail thought it was pretty neat to take turns sitting by them.  Nice that they could be here for Charles funeral.  Dad remembers when Charles came to Kentucky and his time there.

Proud of his sunflower!!  Joseph's class last year
planted a sunflower seed in a cup.  We were
slow in getting it repotted into something larger and
that made it later in blooming

Another Sunday of trying to get a decent picture and this
was the best one. This was the Sunday before convention.

Little sister trying to get dress in
big brother's clothes.

Lost another tooth Tuesday after convention!!!

Sneaky, Helpful, Me too and Makedo

Some times we have such creatures
like this that slither along looking
for their prey.

This is a proud brother who had just finished
changing his sisters diaper.  His first words were
"don't worry Mom.... she was just wet"

Abigail wanted to have what Daddy had on his face

Daddy's way of holding the hair back
when he can't find any hair clips
near by.

Family Camping at Randy's

Around the 10th of August Dan's family all got together at Randy's for a camping weekend.  They hadn't been together like that since they were children I guess.   The past few years they've tried to get together for Thanksgiving at Randy's. Dan's Mom has been very sick since January.  She has lived longer than the doctors said so she wanted the family to be together again for a weekend camping.  Randy's place seemed the perfect place and we all took turns cooking a meal.
As children they always went camping.  Dan often talks about their camping times and hunting times with his Dad. The time went well and I think we all enjoyed it....... except it was probably the coolest weekend in August.  Joseph wanted to so bad to get in the pool but the water was to cold for him.  I don't know how the other children could stand it.  I did like the cool nights by the fire......

Some were taking time to target practice.  Joseph even
got a chance to shoot one of Uncle Jim's guns.

Can't really see it but Joseph has a big smile. Dan had told him
to pull the trigger when he told him to.  He did but must have
left his finger on the trigger and it fired again and again by that
time Dan was saying "hey, hey,...". Joseph thought that was
pretty funny.

Millie -   Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma
All 7 of the children were there
16 out of 18 grandchildren were there
and 5 out of 8 great grandchildren were there
(that is if I'm counting right)

We all camped out except for Randys and Mom
There was another camper to the right that is not in the picture

Dan and Abigail sitting by the fire Saturday morning.
Two more tents (Jim) behind them

We stayed in Randys camper to the right of the pool by
the big shed across from Jim.

Company's coming.....(in July)

We had some special visitors come to see us in the
later part of July.... Rob and Jason field neighbors this field.

The children enjoyed having the workers too.  Joseph told Rob he
could come back anytime he wanted for a sleep over.  He and Rob
paper airplanes.  There was a really neat and very detailed one that Rob
was showing to Joseph on a website. Joseph was talking about it the
next morning to me. Rob was saying it would take a scientist or
something to figure it out and Joseph "and not a worker?!"

Brian and Heather came over a Sunday evening.  Brian read
Joseph and Abigail (and Heather) a bedtime story.  Joseph
was wanting them to stay for a sleep over too.
