We are still here...............

For the last while I just haven't been in the mood for posting. Its taken effort to get anything done. Must be the weather.................. I'm for sure not ready for winter. Last week we had some cold nights and mornings................ yuck. I'm wanting to put the flannel sheets on but it just seems to early, especially since they stay on till almost May. (I do take them off for washing)

I might have a few pictures to put on of Joseph. I do have a couple videos I want to try to put post. He loves to sing but when I appeared with the camera he stopped. I guess I could hide the camera and just record the sound. I tried again and he ignored me and just hummed.

One morning he was quiet and I went to check on him. There he was sitting in Dan's chair with my glasses on reading my bible. When we are in the bathroom he will get the bible out of the basket and then stand up and act as though he is speaking. Then sits down and does it again. He starts out by saying "Father we are thankful....................."

I decided to get Joseph some slippers to wear in the mornings or whenever he doesn't have socks on. It was so funny to see him try to walk in them. I guess they are very cushiony and he must feel off balance. He was holding on to things as he walked and after we were laughing so much he then started to really put on. (He is great at putting on)

Happy Birthday Ryan!!

Happy Birthday to my oldest nephew,
who was born in 1982............

Okay, okay I will not continue with making up a poem in honor of my nephew. Ryan is the oldest of my sister Glenda. Yes, he was born in 1982 which I remember so well. I had just started high school and becoming an aunt. Two big things in ones life................ smile.

Best wishes to you, Ryan.

Ordinary Days

Back to the same routine of things. We had a very good convention last week. The weather was bad either. A little cool, damp and wet at times. Wasn't bad................ it added a little body to my hair. I didn't have to put a perm in my straight and limp hair. Which by the way I never have put a perm in my hair though I've been tempted. I've always had a fear something would go wrong. Fear is a good thing!

We didn't take any pictures this year at convention. We didn't
even get any of Joseph and Grandma Millie. It also would have
been nice to have gotten some pictures of all the children around
Josephs age. Can you imagine trying to get 1, 2 and 3 year olds to
all stand still. Like maybe 20 of them! I do have a few pictures
that I will throw in from days gone by.

I was greeted with this view when I opened Josephs shade

yesterday morning. (I took the picture later in the day) The
man below us got a deer on Sunday (bow hunting) and they
hung it up in the shed next to the east drive. The picture is
after she was skinned. For Josephs sake I tried not to seem
too disgusted by the sight. Don't want Joseph to grow up
thinking his own Dad is a killer. Jokingly I told Dan I was
going to teach Joseph all about Bambi.

The other pictures .................... we were cleaning out the
tent after using it at Shoals. It was very windy that day
and we had to tie it to the back of the work van. It had
rained the day before so really didn't want to set it up
in the yard. We were trying to get a picture of Joseph,
Sunday morning, who would not stand still.

Happy Birthday Clinton!!!!

Happy Birthday to you, Clinton! I probably should call you because I doubt if you look at this blog. In fact, your Dad probably doesn't come here. For those of you who don't know........ Clinton is the oldest of my brother Steve. So lets see........... it was 20 years ago today. WOW!! We hope you have a great day and a great school year.

Most recent picture I have of the family was Thanksgiving
of 2007. That is Clint, Audrey, Steve and then Mason in the
front.

Tuesday Morning

Tomorrow we leave for Wisconsin Dells convention. Dan plans to take the whole day off which will be nice. The past 3 years he has worked a half day. Its nice to not feel so rushed in packing and loading up the van. Dan wants to get over there in good time and get settled before the night meeting. Less than a month ago we were at Shoals convention but I still feel a great need for this convention. At Shoals we heard that convention starts when our heart is softened. So today will be a busy day for Joseph and I. Need to do some last minute washing and iron a few things.
Its hard to take in that Taylor has passed away. Seems like you just imagine them being around for ever. We would like men like Taylor to be around for a long time. Taylor will be greatly missed as those before him have been.

Sunday Afternoon

While Joseph is napping I was going to print off some pictures to put in a little album for convention. He likes to look at the one he has had since he was a baby. He knows who everyone is and likes to call off their name. So I'll put some recent pictures in for him.

As it normally happens................... I'm getting side tracked. I think I have ADD. I'm easily distracted and end of with 3 to 5 things going at once and getting no where. Worse.......... I can sit and daydream, which gets nothing done.

Whoops.............. what I was going to say is as I was looking at pictures I came across some I took in July when we went up to Randys. We went to a pot luck after Sunday mtg where Joseph enjoyed playing the sand box. Dan and Megan were there with their two boys. Jacob and Joseph played together a bit. There is about 3 or 4 months between I think. Funny.......... their shirts were almost identical.

Taking a break from throwing the ball around.

Jacob: Joseph I don't think that
is going to go in the hole.
Joseph: Maybe if I push real hard.

Which way to go.......... to the left or to the right.
Jacob: When I made a basket they all jump up and shouted Yeah.
Joseph: Wow

Here is something else I've seen the adults do. You start running, look back and I'll throw it to you. Oh and your suppose to catch it.

Happy 24th Birthday Shauna Lynn

Just about let the day completely slip by without a wish going out to Shauna. Happy Birthday and best wishes. Hope you had a great day and your little ones helped you celebrate. We enjoyed seeing them at Shoals with your Mom. Skyler wanted to give Joseph hugs but he kept moving on. He probably still remembers the time she smacked him. (smile)
