Fun time with friends

Went to Bob and Karen A's yesterday. (Saturday)   Did some swimming and a bit of fishing. Joseph remember going there last year.  Once Abigail was in the water she was fine...... in fact she loved floating around.   She did not like to be sat or stood in the water..... I think it was the feel of the sand.   Joseph used his fishing pole right after we got it for him (when he was 3) and now this was his second time.   He caught 3 or 4 fish.......  of course his Daddy was helping him.   He did a great job on casting but needs some practice on reeling in.   The child's pole isn't made to catch too big of a fish...... I think the line snapped a couple times.

working on the hold

waiting for a nibble

reeling one in...... with a little fight

just his size and a good size for the pole

here is one of the many that Heather caught

there is Karen and Abigail

we had this float for Joseph but never used the shade

getting ready to go for a little drive.......  she doesn't realize she needs to hold on

now she is holding on and she is on the edge of her seat

coming between our van and the Boyles car
the Boyles weren't around...... so no heart attacks

I thought this was a cute picture

For the Grandmas and Aunts.......... for the first 3 or 4 times that they went on I was right beside them walking fast or running.  When I saw she was holding on good then I just watched....... plus I was tired of the running.   A few times she was having so much fun that she was clapping then Joseph would give it some power and her hands went right back on the grab bar.   I'm sure they would love to have one of these.

Joseph's Birthday

Yesterday was Joseph's 5th birthday.   He opened his presents after we ate brunch..... his favorite breakfast meal of cheese grits and eggs.   He asked me  " Moma when are all the people going to get here?"   Well.... I hadn't invited anyone...... didn't think about having a birthday party.  We had one when he was three.  So....  after he mentioned it a few times we invited Brian and Heather.  Glad they could come at a last minute notice.  Joseph was very happy to have them.

Looking for something in the bag (Yes Debbie.... I reused your bag)

Remote control monster truck
(we went for the cheap on $8..... hope it will last awhile)

Looked like a fun game to me...... hope it will help his cordination
(another cheap item $5......  fell apart on the first use.  Dad fixed them... to last and last...)

They saved the day and made the party!!!

More presents today (Sunday)
Got some this morning and afternoon

Making the birthday cake.....

Earlier last week Joseph told me that his Daddy was going to make him a cake..... one that looked like a race car!!  So when I came home Thursday night this is what I found...... the start of a race car cake.  Dan made two cakes and put them together.  The one on top he baked with the pan slightly tilted.   He worked on it Thursday evening and Friday evening.

Dan tried to make it to look like Lightning McQueen....  it turned out pretty good.... he did a good job!!  And it taste alright and it stayed moist..... I should say that it didn't dry out.

I want Grandma and Grandpa to see it.....

Ever since Joseph first put Abigail into the grocery cart she like to ride.  Sometimes she will get in herself and then start calling for someone to come push..... plus she can't get herself back out.  So this was going on while I was getting lunch ready today.

We went outside after supper today.  Thought I would let them run, play and get tired.  Joseph was pulling Abigail around in the wagon then I pulled them both.  We went out to see if there were any more calves... there are now two that we could see.  On the way back Joseph must have had his hand around the wheel and when I moved forward his hand went under.  Not sure really how it happened but I felt like I ran over something, looked back in time to see Joseph pulling his had up and started crying then I saw the blood.  I'm really not good with this kind of thing.  I had my cell phone and called Dan...... he met us at the door and took over from there.   Half of the nail was ripped off.  Dan cleaned it really good and then applied super glue to seal it.  He has done it many times to himself, I've heard of others doing it and even let him do me not long ago.......BUT..... it was hard to allow him to do it to our child.   Before we put bandaids on he said he want Grandma and Grandpa to see his hand.  So this is for the two Grandmas and Grandpa. (sorry Dad you have to look at it.... I did)

This is what Joseph likes to do at the library.  Play games on the computer.

July 4th

Abigail helping get clothes out of the dryer

Here we are at the parade......  we asked a man to take our picture.... his daughter took a picture of him on their phone

The next four pictures were taken with my Dad in mind.   Anyone is welcomed to look at them.

The next picture is for sure not for my Dad.  This object I found in the little one's diaper..... actually it was still in the process of being deposited.  I was shocked to see it!!  It is about 3/4" long, 1/4" wide and plastic of some sort but a bit flexible.   She is constantly putting things in her mouth and especially looks for crumbs of food under Joseph's chair.  I think she is part dog.   I'm wonder how many items I have missed seeing.......  I just hope there wasn't any damage done.   I found it 3 days ago and so far she hasn't acted bad and no fever.

A pictures of this and that

Caught Abigail looking out the window

Daddy showing Abigail how to eat corn on the cob

At the park......  working with the planets

Abigail watching Joseph doing something

Daddy and Abigail doing the slides.....  the slides were HOT

Looked out the window to find Joseph having a visit with Rosie.... our downstairs neighbor

Family comes to visit (in June)

My parents came to visit the week after Joseph was out of school.  Was nice to have them here for a few days.  They took us to the zoo on Monday with their grandparents pass...... I did not pass as a grandchild. My picture taking has really been slacking lately.  Seems with Joseph I was taking pictures of every moment and experience.  I don't have any pics of the visit except for when they were leaving.

Abigail is watching the ducks

Took a walk down the lane.... a new calf joined the herd

Grandparents with grandchildren (like you didn't know that)

My folks left on Thursday and the Randy Swonger family came on Friday.  They were coming down to take Cuyler to Madison to UW for week program.  Nice they came hour further and spent a couple nights with us.

Father's Day..... got Dan a card that played a song... Abigail would laugh every time it started playing

Joseph like Corina's dog Bandit
