We had some excitement here late yesterday
afternoon.....

The mulch pile (mountain) caught on fire........
Mulch which consist of chicken poop and sawdust and
whatever else.....
Lucky they were right there when it happened

They set up a "pond" out front and 6 plus tankers
filled it up while the pumper truck what through
the hose.......... it was one long hose......

I took the picture just above the rooster's head....

The ambulances in the back...... one was a Axillary which

had two women passing out drinks and such

You can see the top of the mulch mountain...... it steams
all winter

Here Dave is using the end loader to haul the stuff out and
then the firemen would spray it.......

Then at the end when they got all that was ignited put
out they sprayed it all from the ladder truck

It started when they took a load out and oxygen got

to it and boom....... glad they were right there and it
didn't start in the night

I've heard they are easy to care for....... but
after telling a friend that she informed me
that she went through three rather
quickly.......

We brought the bike back in from storage.....
We got it for Joseph when he was around one.....
then later we flipped the handle back up for

him to peddle..... we never took it outside....
but maybe next summer

Of course it was like a new toy again for Joseph.....
I told him it was Abigail's turn and maybe she

would share...... this is his thought of sharing.....

Last week or was it the first week was Dr Seuss birthday.......

Joseph's class made "Cat in the Hat" hats......

It just was not our day......

Yesterday on the way home from meeting our van just quit running. We got it off to the side of the road but it wouldn't start again. Unfortunately we both forgot our cell phones at home so Dan started the 4 mile walk home (from where we were). He just started when a family stopped and gave him a ride. He came back in the car and picked us up.

After talking to one of our neighbors we decided it might be a gas problem so back to the van we went. Our other neighbor came to in case we needed towed back. It still wouldn't start so they hooked up the van to the truck. The children and I were to follow in the car.

I went to start the car back up and it was dead!! So neighbor Dave had to unhook from the van and jump the car....... then we were on our way. He pulled it straight to where we sometimes have work done...... just a mile from our place.

Then we drove to Walmart to get a new battery for the car........ that was not the first time its died while being out.

Now we wait to hear.........

Yesterday was not our day........... we didn't eat lunch till 2:30 and didn't get to go to gospel in the afternoon. It was Dan's first time out for awhile because of his back.......... which crawling around under the vehicle didn't help.

It's a bear!!

When Abigail was born someone gave Joseph a bear this
size, which was out at Valentine's day, and Abigail loves it
So we got her one.

holding on to things....... but yet to try a step or two

the garage....... which is where Joseph is shoveling

Oh No!! I forgot.....

I noticed I forgot to post Thanksgiving........ which we had at Randy's (Dan's brother) and the deer cutting up. I mean the cutting up deer.......... believe me the deer were not cutting up...... it was not a laughing matter....... it was disgusting...... the whole process. If you had asked me 10 years ago if I would ever go hunting........ NO! ............ if I would help process a deer (even though my part is just washing off the meat and putting in freezer bags) I would have again said.... NO!!
For every frown and noise I would make I would hear.......... love..... its meat in the freezer.....

Really....... venison isn't bad..... if its season and cooked right. Not that I know how to cook it but some cream of mushroom soup with garlic and cream of celery soup and an onion really helps. Ground venison is good for tacos and spaghetti and so forth.......

keep Abigail out of the kitchen where Joseph was playing
